Contact Mary Carol Wall for more information.

Diocesan Youth Events

Our parish is involved in many Diocesan events, such as retreats, the National Catholic Youth Conference (we just returned from the 2017 event in Indianapolis), Foundations Leadership Training, and more. For more information, click on the image at left.

National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) 2017

Youth Minister Sean McKinley led a crew of pilgrims to the Indianapolis Conference this past November, along with a contingency of youth from Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Hornell, who joined our group. It was a wonderful experience meeting teens from all over the country, hearing keynote speakers like Chris Stephanick, and musicians like Matt Maher, attending workshops, doing fun service projects... all of this while taking part in AMAZING prayer liturgies and a closing Mass for over 20,000 people! In addition, the crew got to see a bit of Indy, and enjoy some of the local eating places. Our next conference is in 2019... all are welcome!

Service Opportunities

Parish Needs

Liturgy: We always welcome lectors (readers), altar servers, cross bearer, choir members, Eucharistic Ministers, folks to help with collection, and people to bring up gifts.

Technology: we DESPERATELY crave creative people to help with the webpage and other aspects of technology to help us better communicate... if interested, contact Mary Carol or any staff member.

Community opportunities: with/for Pregnancy Help Center, Catholic Charities Turning Point (including food pantry) and Loaves and Fishes food pantry in Hammondsport, Joseph's Hammer, and more. See below.

Annual March for Life

Every year the buses converge on Washington, DC to march in honor of the lives of the unborn. This year, a bus is leaving from a Southern Tier parish late on Thursday night, January 19th, returning about midnight on Thursday, the 19th. There will be Mass at the Basilica with Archbishop Chaput and Bishop Matano at 10 am Friday. Bishop Matano will march with us after the Mass. March and rally, accompanying prayer opportunities, people to meet, etc., are something to remember always.

Joseph's Hammer

A person's home should be their castle, but many people end up struggling with homes falling apart or no longer accessible to them. The volunteers of Joseph's Hammer come in and repair windows and doors, build access ramps, and more.

Souper Bowl

Using the energy of the Super Bowl to mobilize youth in a united national effort to care for people in their local communities who are hungry and those in need.

Pregnancy Resource Center of the Valleys

22 Liberty Street, Bath, NY 14810; 607-776-8004; Past efforts for the Pregnancy Center include distributing baby bottles to be filled with change and return to them, having a church baby shower to collect diapers, personal hygiene, and other supplies for the center, and making people aware that this ministry exists.
